"Watch Me Throw the ball!" By mo Willems

Meet Elephant Gerald and Piggie.

"Watch Me Throw the Ball!" is one of Elephant and Piggie series by Mo Willems. Winner of two Theodor Seuss Geisel Medals and also recipient of five Geisel Honors. Mo Willems is a number one New York Times bestselling author and illustrator, and every of his collections are simple, interactive, and FUN.

Watch Me Throw the Ball! is a beautiful orange book with a simple comic illustration of a funny looking Piggie holding unto a ball, and a sarcastic elephant staring at him. It is one of the best fonts I have seen of children's book, designed in a dialogue form( mini-drama), easy and FUN to read picture-book. It is well punctuated, which make expression come to life. Great texture, simple and expressive illustrated pages of funny conversations between Elephant Gerald and his best friend Piggie.

Gerald is careful. Piggie is not.
In Watch Me Throw the ball!, Gerald thinks ball- throwing is serious business. But Piggies has another view about throwing ball.

"I threw the ball so far, you cannot even see it!"

"Call me Super Pig!' "With my arm of Power!" "Ha!"

" PIGGIE, YOU DID NOT THROW THE BALL AROUND THE WORLD!!!"

" The ball flew behind you and fell here!" "And that is not very far!"

Piggie says throwing ball is for the FUN of it, Gerald thinks it is skills and practice. You need to read the book to see which one has the best from throwing ball.

Gerald or Piggie?

Watch Me Throw the Ball! is a very good book to read to children, they will never be bored in the company of these two friends.

I give it a 5 star. And I will recommend that it should be added to your library if you do not have it.  Young READERS will enjoy it, as there are lots of great lessons from it. An important one is that we can be friends and still share a different view, as far as we love to have FUN together, and that is what matters.
